Spyro the Dragon - June 15th, 1998 Preview

The June 15th, 1998 Build is a version of the game used in a number of early previews across a range of magazines. The build itself is notable for being the first full pre-release build to be released to the public. The build originated from a European "Preview Version" disc, but a similar (if not identical) build has also been seen in a number of US publications, too.
The build contains a wide array of cut and changed features, perhaps most notably including several largely incomplete levels using placeholder textures and unfinished models, an earlier design for Gnasty Gnorc, developer dialogue recordings for several of the dragons, and several high-quality stereo audio tracks, which would become mono later in development.

Origin Information

The build was dumped via a SCEE NTSC Preview Version disc, understood to have been used by a UK magazine when previewing the game. The exact magazine is not currently known.

The build appeared in a number of European publications, and a very similar looking build appeared in some US publications, too. It's not currently known if the US build is identical to this one, or if it's a different build.
